No, see, it's like the office party, which is kind of nice and all but a little weird and awkward, and everyone pretends to like ice-cream cake and makes not-very-funny inside jokes about Accounting, and your bosses start looking antsy after about 15 minutes and make you go back to work. And then later you have a real party with all your friends and it's much much fun.
Except that here, actually, both parties are fun, because none of us make inside jokes about Accounting.
Yes Sean, I am indeed back from the antipodes and in the same time zone as you and everything. If you could please sort out the permanent cloud cover, that would be most appreciated. I have less sway with the local gods as I still smell a bit foreign.
We should attempt another meet-up-north this year. Yeah.
Any colonials coming our way to give us the meet-up excuse? We have whippets and cheese and lovely warm* beer.
*Warm is relative. When your cellar never gets above 15C it still qualifies as pretty much cool and refreshing.
