OK Firefox geeks, hope me. [More:]I'm running the latest Firefox, with Verdana as my default font, minimum font size 12 selected in Options.

If I, for example, write a comment to MeCha and make part of it reduced font size (by adding the HTML tags), that part of the comment in small text comes out the same size as the rest of the text in Firefox, but not in IE, where it displays correctly. I've tried changing the minimum font size to 'none' but it makes no difference and also makes other websites soooo tiny.

sample text

This seems to happen only on MeCha and not on other websites or forums where I regularly contribute. Is it just me, or does this happen to others on MeCha?
Nope, doesn't happen for me. In that tools/options/fonts & colors menu, do you have a minimum font size chosen? If so, change it to 'none' and see what happens.

Done that, iconomy, makes no difference.

Wow it would really help if I read the whole post, since you already mentioned the minimum font size twice....geez.

Can you temp change it to exactly what my settings are, and see what happens? This is weird.

Done it! I changed the 13 to 16 in one of the boxes and now it works.

Thanks iconomy, your hope is much appreciated.

First, Press Ctrl+F5 twice while at the metachat site.

Maybe firefox is ignoring the CSS Settings. So...
- What Extensions do you have installed in firefox?
- Do you have the Verdana & Georgia fonts installed on your PC?

However, the most Likely explanation is your settings:
In Tools --> Options

You need to drop your minimum font size down to none, and tick the "Allow Pages to choose their own fonts" tickbox.

If your options screen looks different, it's possible that you've got an older/newer version of firefox.

So, you'll need to change these using the power of about:config

Minimum Size
Type about:config in the address bar.
Type "minimum" in the filter area.
Change the font.mimimumsize... value to be 0

Weird Fonts.
Type about:config in the address bar.
Type "browser.display.use_" in the filter area.
Change the "browser.display.use_document_fonts" value to 1.

Never mine seanyboy, you can have a bunnykiss too for writing all that stuff, which might as well be in Cantonese for all I understood it. But I do appreciate it anyway.
