The bigwig who runs the company is visiting next week, so the HR hag who works here [the same one who insisted on parking her BMW not in the parking lot, but right next to the main doors of the building until the whole site complained] has decided to start doing her job for once.

So she's been inspecting the office [the first time I've seen her on the second floor in over a year] and ordering people to clean up this and rearrange that, so that hopefully the bigwig won't realize how craptacular the building is. [Monthly massive plumbing and HVAC failures] I also bet that they hire someone to wax the floors in the entryway and clean up the kitchen, since the last time they did that was also when a bigwig appeared.
