I totally disagree with that list. The cities in the South and Southwest are hot, to be sure. But every freakin' place you go into has A/C, from the store to the cafe to the gas station to the mall.

I'd suggest candidates in the muggy, swampy mid-Atlantic, like Philly, Baltimore, and D.C., where it's wicked hot and humid but the A/C culture is not as well established, and you absolutely wilt all day long.

Fa sho, DC is the sweatiest, hands-down. When I think "sweaty," I think of the inneficient kind of sweat that soaks you and slicks you down, defeating even the most skin-shrinking antiperspirant, not the Arizona sweat that evaporates immediately in the hot, dry air, cooling you off nicely. Living in DC in August is like swimming in a boiling lake of mosquitos and bad breath.

I produce more sweat in the NYC summer than I ever did in the Phoenix summer.
