StumpleUpon A cool way to find new sites that fit your interests. Has anyone else messed with this? I've been using it all day and I've found a lot of cool stuff, although most of it seems to be old.

Anyway, here's my profile page where you can see all the stuff I've given a thumbs up or thumbs down to.[More:]

Some stuff:
Alley cat photos (flash)
Modern Living / Neurotica series - flash comic
Garbage Disposal Cat
Painted Room Illusions
Petra: Lost City of Stone
Yes, I have been to 'stumbleupon'. I "stumbled upon" it when I was checking out Musicovery.com's background (which has sadly not resurfaced) a few weeks ago. I noticed 'stumbleupon' was a little on the dated side as well, but I am glad you posted this, because I meant to go back there and look at it a little more in-depth, but I found metachat first. Happy me, I got Metachat and a reminder about stumble. Appreciation extended.

The "Alley Cats" was moving and profound. Thank you so much for this, I'd had no idea. What great pictures.

Thank you most sincerely puke & cry. It goes right there on the browser bar. I'd like to take back what I wrote, when I was there before I ended up there via a search engine, so I think I went right to someone's "likes it" page, not to the heart of the site itself. SU is beautiful I tell you, just beautiful. Enthralled & amazed.

I had never heard of it until I looked and realized half the traffic coming to one of my sites came from there. I'd wager to guess that it's bigger than del.icio.us, but since the users aren't typically the web 2.0 crowd, it doesn't get as much glory.

I played with Stumble Upon for a few weeks. I enjoyed it, but yeah, most of the stuff was old. And I didn't like the clutter in my browser.

SU is getting a new surge of interest due to their IPO. Their traffic is comparable to del.icio.us per Alexa.

But yeah, if you want fresh, it isn't the best place.

Hullo fellow stumbler. It's like the only place online where I'm not Dabitch. Used to love it. Now it's getting a little stale at times. Comes in waves.

I stumble too. Just started.

found this site in our referrer logs like at least 5 years ago, which led the president of my org to want to join. upon further research, realized that stumbleupon had no certain "we won't spy on you or harvest your information" provision at all, and was therefore deemed malicious (google it; there were tons of links that hinted at stumbleupon's lazy privacy ethics). the service never caught on (obviously), so im not surprised that everyone says that it is now 'stale'.

so I'm assuming that del.icio.us does the same thing as Stumbleupon? I like SU - I wouldn't know from stale if you funneled it into my mouth at a keg party. Besides that, it got me to Pandora.com, which is really a nice change from last.fm. Of course, many of you probably already know about Pandora, which only proves that yeah, it's a stale searcher and I don't know shit about what's out there.

I'm sick and tired of "Conan O'Brien vs. Bear". || WifeJobFilter:
