SON OF A! [More:]I just lost my whole post. Stupid computer.

Here's the gist of it:

I often have to fight the urge to key cars that are poorly parked. And this is not a farewell thread. more inside:

I haven't posted a comment here in about 20 days. That's an unfortunate personal record. But, though I have missed many of you, I needed to spend some time focusing on my job, working at home, and spending time outside.

(Somewhat related, I haven't been to MeFi or any of its subsites in months. It's awesome, I don't think I'll ever go back).

I'll be around a little more often now though.

And thank you, mysterious Brigitte, for the book. It's sitting right in front of me.

And thank you again Speck, for the special gift. It is also sitting right in front of me.

So, how's everyone? And watch your parking dammit! :)
Hugs tr33hggr!

I have a sore shoulder from sleeping funny. Can you rub it? *flirts shamelessly*

Wow, that car is from Russel's blog, I was just talking to him. How small is this world?

Well, I hope you never walk by my car then. I tend to always park slightly crooked, I'm starting to think of it as a trademark. I never go outside the lines though, if that makes it better.

Sore, you say? I can help with that . . .

If you're in the lines you're good in my book!

I have to say, of all the stupid things that my fellow humans do, poor parking is low on my list. I think that's because the city I live in isn't that big, so, there's always another spot somewhere.

Now, please, for the love of all that is sacred, do NOT read this and think I am a patient, affable fellow who makes his way through the world bending like the proverbial reed. Just sit in the back seat as I get red light after read light after red light. I don't think this city has employed an ACTUAL traffic engineer.

Welcome back tr33hggr!

Hi tr33.
Come take care of the SUVs in my work parking garage, would ya?

Before you key the car, consider that it might have been forced into that position by wacky parkers on either side, that have left by the time you get there.

tr33hggr, have you ever thought of getting a job as a parking valet? Think how satisfying it would be.

I often have to fight the urge to key cars that are poorly parked.

I almost posted about this recently. Just one example: I recently saw a HUGE luxury car purposely taking up two spaces. I was SO tempted to key it. I thought, I should be compassionate--It might nbe some little old lady or man who feels s/he has to drive a tank to be safe and who JUST CAN'T PARK. BUT NO!--I came out of the car to see some cocky kid in a baseball cap sitting in the luxury liner car.

Then again, sometimes violence breeds violence. If I'd keyed his car (which is obviously his only source of ego, his prized possession above all else in life, and his compensation for his 2" weiner), the dumb little shit might have gone home and kicked his dog.

Oops, in my rage I botched that. YES, I FEEL THIS WAY TOO. And I came out of the store, not the car, to see the li'l punk in his "kickin' ride."

Pulling a pram around Copenhagen cars only bother me when they do what bikes do which take up the entire pavement forcing me to bump up and down the high pavements, thereby waking the baby and that just blows aaaaaaarghhhhhhhhh hate it. Grr!

oooh, rose oil! yes it's right there oh you got it.. aaah..uhh... mmmm... *purrs*

I do not key poorly parked cars, but I have been known to turn the side-view mirrors all of the way in or out.

Uh, I've heard, mind you heard only, that a little alligator clip on the tire valve will drain all the air out of the tire without you having to stick around and hold the valve open the whole time. This has the benefit of being in the nature of an annoyance and not (really) vandalism.

But that's just what I've heard.

At least they parked. I used to see a pair of dumbasses who would repeatedly leave their brand new canary yellow sports car idling in the street while they sat down in the pizzeria and scarfed slices. And yes, the car's stereo was bumping the whole time, too. Aids the digestion, don'tcha know?

So what if this guy parks that way because when he got there all the other cars around were also off kilter parking-wise? The surrounding cars leave, and then this guy comes out to find some mindless asshole has keyed his car for no good reason. Sure, it's not very likely, but why take a chance on being a mindless asshole?

Teaching people manners by being a jerk, is pretty much doomed to failure. It just increases the asshole level in the world, and nobody really needs that.

how aponysterical can you get?

True dat trodant!

No worries Dr., it's a passing desire. I have many I supress, as we all (or most) do, to keep things civilized.

I have mad parking skills though. I challenge anyone to a parallel parking competition!

You're on! *slaps palm on table* I can park a Buick the size of a tugboat in a space the size of a postage stamp!

I couldn't park as crookedly and inconsiderately as some of the cars I've seen lately. Parking over the line taking up 2, parking totally crooked over the line so everyone else down the line is crooked like dominos, parking way too close for comfort to the line. I just can't do it. How much trouble is backing up and doing it right?
