I so badly wanted to have a summer solstice party, but alas that is not possible in my current situation. Someday, though, I will do this. Happy solstice. :)

This solstice, we all made a wish. I wished I could judge better the line between being funny or saying what I think AND upsetting people. It's a thin old line, and I've crossed it a couple too many times recently.

G- said she was too happy at the moment to make a wish. P- wished she could go back to Peru to teach soccer, V- wished she could stop procrastinating.

We drank wine. Ate a gorgeous meal. Listened to a band called Air. Finished the night early because people were tired.

There was an awesome thunderstorm today in Chicago. It was a good event for a solstice.

I was born on an equinox, so I'm like all at one with the seasons an' shit. Wish me a Happy Quarter Birthday!

I've been thinking about it all day. It's also my mom's birthday - she would have been 74. We planted sunflowers this year on mother's day in her honor - they were her favorite. :D

Solstice here has been thunderstorms since 5 AM. and all day tornado watches and warnings. Not much celebration in the great outdoors.
