If you had two nights and one day to spend in Europe, where would you go?
I'd head to Reykjavik, Iceland. Never been there but my friend says the nightlife and culture are amazing.

Marettimo, rumored to be the original Ithaca, location of Homer's Odyssey and as I saw on Jamie Oliver 's new show home to a great restaurant.

My suggestion would be to try to get somewhere Mediterranean, just to give you a tiny taste of southern Europe by way of contrast to Stockholm: Barcelona, for example, would be a great place to spend a day and a half…

...After I spend a week at a conference in Stockholm
She enjoys art, fine dining with friendly staff and she's considering leaving Stockholm to go elsewhere? tssk.

Otherwise yeah, I'd head south and do Barcelona (art+food) or Rome (same).

"she" is muddgirl, do'h I didn't notice you're the one posting at askeme too!

Stockholm is utterly gorgeous - if you get bored of it you should go south. Having lived in both Stockholm and Amsterdam I can honestly say that Amsterdam will not impress you after sthlm, unless you smoke a lot of pot and like to go to good concerts in which case you'll simply adore it.

I realise everthing is south of Stockholm hehehe - I meant something like Barcelona. They have great galleries, museums and strange architecture and some really good nightclubs too!

Have you considered Copenhagen? Pleasant city, lots of design stuff, fair number of bookshops, plentiful range of restaurants (and what could be more casual than smorrebrod?). The national art museum has a display of drawings by French Masters until October, as well as a bunch of other stuff.
It's also a fairly short jaunt from Stockholm. If you follow anything about European flights on AskMe you'll probably already be using skyscanner to find cheap flights all over Europe.
With the ludicrously cheap ones remember you'll be paying taxes and that these can mount up.
You can get from Copenhagen to Atlanta and various other US destinations on the Sunday.

I'd camp out somewhere with a lot of pastry shops. But I don't necessarily have to be in Europe to accomplish that.
