Not too(C) bad(F) but I'm either going stay indoors during the day or I may have to bust out a tank top/topless. FSM forbid that I spend the weekend at the lab again (although the air conditioning is tempting).
Holy crap, mudpuppie. We are in the midst of the nicest spring I've experienced here in the 14 years I've lived here. The skeeters aren't even out yet! The temperature is finally climbing into the 90s, but the humidity is staying down. It's swell. ≡ Click to see image ≡
Dammit, I could not make that screenshot undistorted. I tried png, gif, and jpg. *grumble*
Rain, rain and more rain, following the past 5 days of sun, sun and more sun. Massachusetts' bipolar summer continues.
Though the lack of tornados and scary yellow-red skies is one thing I love about the northeast. I lived in Ohio and Michigan for a few years and never got over my tornado fear. :(
carabiner, that's a really nice background; what is it a picture of? I stole mine just today from APOD, which is, I guess, tangentially weather-related...
(And I have to admit it's pretty funny to look at the stock ticker and see how much higher the Berkshire Hathaway stocks are compared to everything else.)
Kosh: thank you! :) You can see an uploaded version of my desktop background here. I took this picture in August while I was working in Guyana. Kaieteur Falls is gorgeous, and completely underdeveloped. It was breathtaking to stand ontop of a waterfall.
I also contracted malaria while living in Guyana, but that doesn't stop me from loving that country.
San Luis Obispo (5 miles north of me)
76 - 53 - 78 - 54 - 71 - 56 - 74 - 57 - 81 - 57
A few clouds in the mornings, clearing to mostly sunny days.
Pismo Beach/Arroyo Grande (5-10 miles south of me)
73 - 53 - 72 - 55 - 71 - 55 - 71 - 58 - 75 - 58
A few clouds in the mornings, clearing to mostly sunny days.
Atascadero/Paso Robles (15-25 miles inland from me)
93 - 54 - 92 - 55 - 91 - 58 - 94 - 59 - 97 - 59
Clear and sunny, turning partly cloudy Sunday (when it gets the hottest).
Strangely enough, in my exact location, in the hills between SLO and Pismo, the high temps in the last month have sometimes been 5 to 10 degrees higher than downtown SLOtown. Depends on whether the offshore winds are strong enough to make it here, I guess. Anyway, I'm not gonna be running any errands up to Paso until at least November.
And there's a 10,000 acre fire burning 60 miles from me near Cuyama and the Los Padres Forest. Highs around there are in the upper 90's... ouch!
80s tomorrow, with some thunderstorms cooling things down to the mid 70s for the next week or so. Next Monday shows an expected high of 67°F.
Remember, I was the coldest one of you all winter (even colder than Buffalo!), so now it is my time in the sun (not too much sun, though). My basement apartment is ridiculously cool, and I don't even own an air conditioner. Visitors are welcome.
No button to convert to Farenheit, bastards. That ranges from about 55F (13C) to 84F (29C). A 30 degree jump in temp in two days?! Yikes. Anyway, that's more than warm enough for me - anything over 75F (24C) or so is too hot.
I'm very thankful I don't live in California or Texas any more. I should visit Bro#4 in Phoenix but that won't happen during Summer ever again.
Windy, then freezing, then dour, then gloomy, then positively gothic with a slight chance of gargoyle abduction, all of which occurs underneath mixture of hail/ rain/ ancient curses/ shaken fists. Summer solstice? 48 degrees (F), thank you very much.
