Today at 4 pm EST I'm doing a radio set tribute to my late father. Tune in to hear just a small sliver of my father's collection, primarily harvested from an mp3 CD he left behind (I've only just started ripping some of his LPs).
Hopefully, the fact that Metachat Radio blasts at 64 kbps will hide some of the vinyl rips I'm using. I like the occasional pop or scratch, but I don't want to irritate my audience.
This is a really nice idea, eideteker. I think we're going to have a commemorative round of cocktails for my dad later! And then I'm going to have my Father's Day ribs on the barbie!
Any chance you can post some the cream? I won't be around to listen in.
I'll try to replay the set on the 27/28th, which is when he died two years ago. Setlist, as always, will be posted. It's a six hour set, so it's hard to pick out what people would most like. I've gone a bit obscure on some of the tracks, as well, in the interest of introducing people to some artists they may not already be familiar with.
Argh, I'm only into the preshow, and already this set is hard to listen to.
