Chicago Folks! Internet Question! I was thinking about getting internet at home! Fast Internet! But all around it seems like it's gonna cost 60 bucks a month! Is there a cheaper way?

I pay $57 for "slow" dsl and land line with qwest.

For a couple of years I had Earthlink DSL for $35. It was pretty crappy though and would drop out several times a day. Now I'm paying $61/mo for Comcast cable internet. It rocks, but it's hell of expensive.

Can you get RCN at your address? I've heard good things about them, and they're cheap. They're not available in Ukrainian Village, which sucks for me.

Hrm, I don't know, lady. We've got cable broadband combined with our phone service, through RCN. Not sure how much it costs stand-alone.

I gotta imagine you could find a better deal than $60 a month.

Hrm. We pay $50 for super-duper high speed cable. I wonder why it's so much cheaper here.
