A Fox News anchor opens a can of whoop-ass on a member of the Fred Phelps family/cult, live on the air.[More:] Not as articulate as the Jon Stewart/Bill Bennett smackdown posted last week, but well worth a watch. (Also, this link was originally posted as a comment in this thread, but mats suggested I post it on the front page for people's edutainment. :)
I wish nobody would interview any of these people. I wish nobody would give them any attention at all other than perhaps running them down with their car outside of a cemetary when they are protesting at a funeral.
I'm so horny now.

weretable: I concur.

As much as I like watching them get taken to task, I know there are people out there who think "she said it's God's law... so therefore my homophobia is totally Christian, and I will redouble my jackhole efforts!"

i'm with were too, and can't believe she went off like that--do Fox people not even pretend to be professional or journalists anymore?

All this Phelps and other insane people, and Coulter stuff, i've decided, is just so that all the other rightwingers can look normal in comparison.

Both women were complete jackasses. The anchor should be fired. Hell, the director or producer or whatever should be fired for not having cut to commercial.

What a complete embarassment.

Is Fox generally seen as news or entertainment in the USA?

FFF, you forgot the third option: Scourge.

Protest against the war is valid, but not at a funeral. There's a time and a place, etc. A friend in Maine rides with the Patriot Guard. It's a pity they're so busy.

I only managed to watch about five seconds of that.

Fox is the worst of the worst, but I have to say that all the US cable news channels I get here in oz are shocking to watch. Hell, even BBC World is annoying as hell. Flashy things scrolling all over the screen, overdone graphics, anchors who talk to fast, anchors who use sarcasm, anchors who use slang, anchors who argue with each other, and noisy, harsh debates that seem to celebrate how biased and divisive they are. Even the weather woman I watched the other day acted like she'd just injected 500mg of crystal meth into her eyeball.

What ever happened to the news? I know you get it. The News Hour with Jim Lehrer. That's more the style. Why don't you broadcast more of that?

I'd love to tell her that God doesn't hate fags, that because of Gods love of English affectations there's been a misunderstanding and actually, well really, what he's really angry about is the cigarettes.

In fact, I should camp outside the weirdly cult-like Phelps church with an Olde-Worlde sign.

"God Hates Cigarettes"
"Benson & Hedges = Burn in Hell"

Oh and yes - I'm making light of this, but the whole placards at a funeral thing is sick.

How embarrassing for everybody. Crazy lady on left is gonna get fired. Crazy lady on right is a heartless bitch.
