Help me find cheap flights to LAS. Pretty Please?[More:]

I started searching for a flight to the Las Vegas meetup and am finding that things are $280-ish! Eeek!

Ideally, I'd like to leave Friday evening and return Monday afternoon.

Does anyone know where all the amazing deals are?
Er, from where?

Southwest is probably as cheap as you'll get this far in advance, at $125 each way from Portland.

I'm seeing $275 round trip from Seattle, so the Southwest fares at $125 each way come to $250, which is not saving much.

Wow, I wish I could get there for $250.

Also, sidestep.com is pretty much the place to go for aggregate flight searches. It still doesn't include some of the smaller airlines, so you'll have to search those separately to try to find something cheaper. Right now, for those dates, $270 seems to be about it.

I recently had a flight drop $150 in one day (lucky me), so I'd start checking every day or every other day and hope it comes down a bit.

I booked a direct flight (there's only one airline - Virgin Atlantic - that flies direct to Vegas from the UK) because I've had incredibly stressful experiences with different airlines/airports, trying to get through Customs & Immigration (which have to be cleared at the first point of entry) and make connecting flights.

It costs quite a bit more (the flight is around $1100 as against about $800 if I had to change planes) but it's worth paying extra the lack of stress.

And I've booked the hotel direct instead of through the travel agent because I'm taking a gamble that the $ might drop further against the £, giving me an advantage on the exchange rate when it goes through on my card in late September.

Thanks, babes.

I'll see if I can't find some way of justifying spending the cash. It should be a no-brainer, I know, but it's a lot of cash for me right now.

Whuffles.

The cheapest I'm seeing from Seattle to Vegas is $310 CDN. Don't know what that would be in US$.
