Susan Polk: Susan Sarandon? Or Winona Ryder? [More:]Okay, it's been a while. To get you up to speed, here are some recent Susan Polk tidbits.

** Yesterday was very much not "Pithy Comment Thursday," ruled the judge. (To that, Polk responded, "Pithy -- that's a good word.")

** Polk thinks that, once the movie of her life is produced, she should be played by Susan Sarandon or Winona Ryder. Winona Ryder has extra cachet because she "knows what it's like to be in trouble with the law."

** Susan Polk's diary? Modeled on the humorous stylings of Bridget Jones and South Park.

** Susan Polk doesn't have a lot of respect for lawyers because they're no good at plumbing.

** According to Polk, being outspoken is a very valuable personality trait. And this has something to do with pygmies, but I'm not really sure what.

** Her life... "Tragedy"? Or "triumph"? That one's up in the air.

** The judge? Today she accused Polk of childish behavior.

** Also today, Polk announced from the stand that she had some kind of dream involving prosecutor Paul Sequeira, a bicycle, and nudity.

I'd like to go to trial, just so I can say some outrageous things under oath, like,

"It is my opinion that oatmeal is the worst of all the breakfast foods. Cream of wheat is the best." Now it's public record. It must be true.

I am not sure how it is under US law but under Canadian and Brit law you cannot be charged with liable or slander for testimony under oath as conceivably, true testimony could involve information that opens you to charges. Now lies can open you to perjury charges but you can say things like "I have heard the accused is an alcoholic child beater" or "I was told his ex divorced him because of his penchant for bestiality".

Not that I would say such things under oath...
