My sympathies. Sports can break your heart, seriously.

I do love hockey, but the idea of an Oilers/Hurricanes matchup sounds so terribly dull.

Man, and I thought Chris Drury would pull it off.

Carolina Hurricanes hockey team... in the Stanley Cup Finals... Why the hell doesn't the Tampa Bay team have that name? Then they could be the Carolina Dukesuckers (I know, it's a Farkliche).

And I thought the Anaheim Mighty Ducks (playing in a stadium named after a bottled water company named after a lake) was stupid.

Of Buffalo's 6 defensemen for Game 7, three of them had the following number of games of playoff experience: 7, 4, 0. When you're that banged up, it's hard to win a championship.

Still, one of those guys scored a goal. If they are Buffalo's future, they're only gonna get better.

Hmm, I guess Bettman's pisssssed. With Buffalo, at least there's the TO/North New York/Detroit demographic caring.

Edmonton and Carolina (I'm not knocking Carolina - they've been a reasonable team - but... North Carolina?! Hockey!?) final... ratings nightmare (since the US has more eyeballs, hence more advertisers).

cmonkey - I'm not sure about the "dull." Both are pretty up-beat attacking-zone teams. I guess what'll be missing might be pure raw skill of superstars but then again, there's hope for a Finals Fight...

Oh, and wendell - the Mighty Ducks - I'm ashamed that the NHL has a team called the "Mighty Ducks." Stupid Disney and their $$$. There's talk of renaming them the Anaheim Ducks or the Anaheim Mighty.

At least there's a Canadian team competing for Lord Stanley's mug, again.

I guess I just haven't been too enthralled with either team over the season, so it's just a meh thing for me.

Of course, I'm still going to watch every single minute of the finals.
