Also, Charlie Stross's new book (one of his SF pretending to be fantasy ones) is also pretty good.

Thank you for making me aware of the new Vinge. I loved Fire and Deepness. I will be getting this this week. That and Cloud Atlas.

Don't know when I'll read them though. Currently writing a column for a paper, full time day job, six bands, and scads of session work and pick-up gigs.
