Housewarming weekend! Tomorrow is the official housewarming party,and I hope to broadcast the soundtrack as it happens... live! Anyway, part of my absence from Mecha has been this move, which is now, thankfully, complete. So, grab a cocktail and wander around my new digs, friends.

You should have weekly salons in your new home, and recline amiably to discuss art, love and politics. Pipes should be proffered and things eaten off of mismatched plates.

Lovely. Mazel tov! Man, I want to take a nap on your sofa - it looks super comfortable.

Some friends and I just packed up my rental truck this morning, and tomorrow I'm driving 8 hours to NJ and moving into my new apartment. Wish me luck! In the meantime, almost all of my worldly possessions are out of reach in the truck, save the most important - my laptop and a couple of books.

amberglow, I was going to mention the bread and sugar (although I thought it was salt?). My 80 year-old cousin reminded me of that recently - she said it's so you will never be hungry and your life will always have flavor. Is it a Jewish superstition?

Oh Taz, that's so awesome! Thank you! Did you notice that Ursula is shaved from the head down? The empress, it seems, has no clothes (actually have to do it biannually because she is extremely hirsute, and she likes it)...
