My father and stepmother tell me at least once a month that they do not want to be resuscitated if something horrible happens. They have also issued copies of their living wills to all of the children, their brothers and sisters, their family doctor and, I suspect, the cat.
My mom died when I was a little kid, after being in a coma for a year and a half. Ever since then, my father has expressed pretty strongly that he doesn't want to be kept alive on machines himself if it ever becomes an issue. And I do have a copy of his living will.
Yeah, but how the freak creepy would it be for the medical professionals to be trying to resuscitate her while reading those words? I'd think it'd have a visceral/subconscious effect. It's like writing on your leg "this one" when you have a leg surgery scheduled. People make mistakes. I think it's a good kind of creepy. If I should live so long I should have such balls. Molly-Cakes. Whatever.
Yeah - the tattoo isn't a strong enough statement. I'm getting my heart pierced with a grenade pin. Attached to a live grenade. (The only thing that will be left alive in the end.)
IRFH - couldn't find a good photo (and my DVDs are at home) - but it sounds like you could use a good Harkonen heart plug tm ("don't worry, everyone around here gets one").
I talked to the mister about getting him turned into a LifeGem and he said go ahead, but he thinks they're kinda pricey but I think the blue one is pretty and I think carrying around a corpse on a chain or my finger would be cool in a morbid kinda way, but then I am morbid because I like spending time in cemeteries because they're peaceful and the history can be interesting but then a wooden urn might be kinda pretty or just tossing him off a cliff might be the best thing in the end and his brother would be pissed off because he's a jeweler so I won't do the LifeGem thingie.
