I had a Nerve account about 5 years ago. Don't know if it's still active. Met a lot of nice friends that way.

OKCupid isn't bad, and is really good as free sites go. You do get a lot of posts from wildly unsuitable people. I've been messaged by teenaged boys, women, and a transvestite who told me I am prettier than he (and in all modesty, I am). But there's always a few promising ones.

On Tuesday night I just had a great date with a guy from there - he was the one who insisted I take his umbrella when we parted. This left me so swoon-y I posted about it the next day;-)
