She didn't really want to marry her therapist, with whom she'd been having an affair since she was 16. It was an abusive relationship. We learn this from an old friend -- who
hasn't seen Susan Polk since 30 years ago, back when they were both patients of Polk's murdered husband.
And the woman who is taking care of Polk's youngest son? She testified for the defense today too, although it's not clear why: The two women hate each other, and Polk immediately had her declared a hostile witness. The witness recalled an incident where Susan Polk called from jail to berate her for buying the son the wrong DVD for Christmas.
And also, there's that little thing about the woman (whom Polk today accused of being an "attack dog") and her husband trying to
"loot" Polk's estate. Oops!
In other news, Polk announced today that she'll be
recalling her firecracker of a son, Eli (the one who was ejected from the courtroom during his testimony), to contradict the ersatz foster mother's claims.
