So Golden Doodle is a mix of a poodle and a golden retriever? Does this mean they don't shed like a golden retriever? My family had a golden when I was a kid and the shedding was awful.

Chewie: Apparently they are QUITE mellow fellows. Which is kinda cool for a puppie.

And mullac, yeah, they are shed-free. Apparently a good choice for allergy sufferers too I have heard.

No, it doesn't. Mixes like goldendoodles and labradoodles and schnoodles don't have reliable characteristics (marketing protestations of the breeders notwithstanding). You only get reliable characteristics out of a dog by breeding carefully for a long while until the dogs breed true and the traits are fixed. This almost always involves a lot of line-breeding and inbreeding to get the genes for stuff you don't want out of the gene pool.

You might get a dog with a poodle-ish coat that doesn't shed much. You might get a dog with a poodle coat, except it sheds and is greasy. You might get a dog with a golden coat. There's no way to predict.
