Such a good album, an artifact of a time that never was...

Where the natural intersection between hard rock and hip-hop began, and probably should have ended.

Man, the Judgement Night soundtrack was just killer. My fave is the Faith No More/Booyah Tribe song, "Another Body Murdered."

My sentiments exactly, jon. If only the metal bands had left the rapping to actual rappers, we'd be in such a better place now.

exactly, and most of the rap-metal pack have a very dim understanding of metal as well. There's more to it than just loud guitars, y'all.

I think they approach metal from punk/hardcore rather than from classic rock. So they lose the wail and dig the crunch.

There Spawn soundtrack tries to do something similar, but it's pretty terrible.

Biohazard/Onyx "Judgement Night" is pretty awesome (I remember MTV censoring the line "gonna raise hell and make the white man call me master")

most of the rap-metal pack just have a very dim understanding of music, period. Say what you will about "hair bands," but most of them knew how to play their instruments. they didn't always do it tastefully, but they were musicians. Ironic that they get derided for being all about appearance.
