Other underrated tapes: Duck brand hand-tearable transparent tape and 3M brand clear duct tape. Love 'em.

Personally I find it quite overrated. It came with my window plastic kit, and wouldn't stick to the glossy paint.

We ended up using duct tape.

I hear double stick tape is good for avoiding embarrassing "nip-slips". I personally prevent such minor catastrophes by coating each nipple with a thick layer of wallpaper paste before dressing in the morning. So far, so good.

The tacky stuff from 3M is great for putting things up on walls, especially if the landlord frowns upon nails. It's weight-bearing too.

Always have some on hand, it never fails to impress. Another must-have is the silver muffler tape that is basically adhesive fireproof sheets of metal and can fix holes in a charcoal grill.
