Kearny New Jersey So as not to derail the ladder of oppression thread any more than was already done, I post my question here. →[More:]

There seem to be a few East Coasters here, does anyone know Kearny, New Jersey? I'm thinking of Maple Street in particular.

I remember Kearny from the year or so I lived out in Bergen County right after college. My bf at the time had a friend named Big Mike (or Big Joe... Big Someone) who lived in a walkup above a deli. We used to go over there and listen to old northern soul records from the '60s and talk about scooters.

Huh. Hadn't thought of that in years.

I lived in Bergen County for almost a decade (~ 15 min. away) and what I could tell you about Kearny I could fit in a shoe. I've driven through it, past it, and around it, but never TO it. Why would I?

I don't know when I'll get to visit it, I ask because my Grandfather emigrated there in early 1929 (great timing, eh?). He came back though, but I'm not sure when.
