This is why I love watching hockey. [After clicking on the link, click on "Launch Motion Player Now" at the bottom. It will play an ad (you can skip it by hitting the Skip (">>|") to the right of "Guide"), then highlights of a hockey game.] Just after halfway through the clip, in the Overtime segment, comes perhaps the hardest (clean) check I've ever seen. Keep watching, they'll show it again in slow-mo and another view for good measure. It looks like the guy's entire nervous system goes through a system reboot in the seconds afterwards.

Concussions are no joke. My brother has played hockey since he was 9 years old and he can tell you that knocks to the head can really mess you up for months afterwards.

I can't handle the ESPN video shit - is this the hit on the Flyer's Umberger by the Sabres' Campbell? If so, that was a wicked hit. It reminded me of Stevens hit on Kariya, which is still the most brutal check I've ever seen.

In the Kariya video, watch until the very end - when they zoom in on his head you'll see his head jerk and his visor fog up as he suddenly regains consciousness.

Yeah, jrossi4r - but it's not out of the question that Nonnis will move Naslund to Philly so he can finish the last year(s) of his career playing with Forsberg. Maybe even throw in Bertuzzi. That'd be one sick line... (providing the change in scenergy is what Bert needs and that Naz heals up from that nagging groin injury)

Hey, the last championship Buffalo won was the last AFL championship before the Superbowl started (in... what... '64?) That's for all sports. Plenty of sports pain to go around.

But you were effective: If you can't trash talk, at least make the other guy feel bad... which you did.
