This thread didn't know, until this day, that it was Barzini all along.
(I guess jrossi4r was watching AMC this weekend. I watched some as well, since it's my duty as an Italian-American to watch The Godfather and/or Rocky at least once a month, otherwise we become pale, wan, shriveled and possibly norwegian. I laso watched this flick. Killer movie.)
You guessed right, jonmc. The Godfather movies (I and II, I don't acknowledge III) always, always suck me in. I've seen them a squillion times, but I still can't help but watch.
Also, I'm obsessed with John Cazale. He was so very talented. He and Meryl Streep would have made amazing children, possibly shape-shifters.
Cazale did indeed have his shit wired tight. The Godfather, Dog Day Afternoon and The Deer Hunter. That's some resume. I should get Deer Hunter on DVD, but if I watched it, I'd probably jump off the roof at the end.
True story: three generations of my in-laws, ages eight to eighty, sat in rapt silence watching The Godfather Trilogy on CHRISTMAS DAY. Before and after the three kinds of meat and pasta and twelve side dishes. I am of the pale persuasion, but am grateful for the melatonin-havin' window I am granted through marriage.
