i was a little disappointed (altho i love cassandra and the face of boe) but it was too shallow or something--and i don't like the new doctor yet at all...my download of the new ep just finished, so hopefully it's better.

I just watched the latest episode and it was very good - the usual fast paced rollcoaster ride that we saw in the last series.

Having said that I wasn't at all dissapointed with the first episode of this season and I thought it compared favourably with many episodes from the last season - there were certainly plenty of memorable moments. I think it might be becoming a victim of that problem that hits many successful shows: people forget the mediocre episodes of a season and only remember the highlights against which they compare all future episodes. It's very hard to compete against that.

Ooooh, you can hear a commentary track for the episode here. Listening to it reminds me that I'd hoped when Tennant got the role it'd be with his own accent but it wasn't to be (well, mostly not anyway).
