Drive-By Truckers rock. This song makes me happy. I don't know if directly linking to free record-company sponsored MP3 files is kosher or not. I love this band, and I've known them for 20 freakin' years and I'm glad they're gettin' huge and still making tunes that make me wanna drink whiskey and break pool cues over cops' heads. If this link violates some sort of you're-such-a-rabid-fanboy-this-must-be-spamming rule, then pull it down. And go listen to DBT. Yeeeeeeee-haaaaaw!
I love the DBTs. "Decoration Day" has barely been out of my car stereo over the past two years, I think it's pretty close to being the perfect album.

The Truckers write good rock songs, but also have an amazing sensitivity and an 'ear for dialogue'. And live, in a small club like the Borderline, they are astonishing.

I just missed seeing Skynyrd live in 1973, but when I saw the DBTs for the first time live 30 years later, I felt the same way as I did when I heard my first Skynyrd album as a teenager.

Great link, thanks.

Well I never saw Lynard Skynard, but I sure saw Molly Hatchet. With .38 Special and the Johnny Zan Vandt Band.... /DBT quote

I remember when Patterson Hood was in a band called "Adam's Housecat". I was home in Birmingham, AL for the summer (I was going to college in NYC) and I brought Pat a copy of the Village Voice wherein Robert Christgau called Adam's Housecat the best unsigned band in America, even if all their songs are about trains. Pat never forgot that, and whenever I see them he still calls me the "Christagau guy". I have an Adam's Housecat T-shirt that has genuine vomit stains from a subsequently booted band member on it! Yeah, you could say I'm a fan...

DBT are the best band to come from Georgia in a long, long time... seeing them live is an incredible experience. I think "The Dirty South" is my favorite album overall, but it's hard to choose when they all have such brilliant, heart-wrenchingly great moments.

Haven't heard any of the new stuff yet, but I hope to get "A Blessing & A Curse" this weekend... yeeha! :)

One of my favorites. They make me wish I drove more. They're good on the subway, but I can create a perfect moment out of a day like today, the Drive By Truckers and a pickup truck* on some curving back roads in the beautiful fertile upper Hudson Valley of New York state.
