I did a sort of horrible thing today ... →[More:]I had a friend over for dinner, and cooked Cuban pork tenderloin (a Rachel Ray recipe) with rice, but realised at the last minute that I'd forgotten to buy salad, so there was no vegetable dish to serve.
I looked in the back of the cupboard and found two tins of ratatouille that had a best before date of Nov 2000. I opened them, heated them up and pretended I'd made the ratatouille myself.
It tasted fine, neither of us is dead of botulism and my friend is none the wiser. But I feel as if I will now be going straight to hell without passing Go and collecting £200.
