Hairpun I cut my beard off, and I think I'm regretting it. So reassure me, or tell me it'll grow back, or something. Or just look at my ugly mug, since I don't think I've posted it here before.
The folks are not kidding that it looks good from outside.
I agree with wendell that if you decide to regrow it, a shorter and more personal style would look _awesome_ on you. I think you could carry off a variety of different styles, too. Ring out the old, ring in the new....
Personally speaking, I like "no beard" better. The most beard I've ever had to deal with was the kind that was neatly trimmed and just around the face.
I think you really do just have give it more time before you get used to it. And get an appropriately gendered friend to compliment you on it a lot.
Wow--I leave to buy some groceries, stop at the thrift store and eat some lunch (it's in the high 80s here today, and I felt much, much cooler, which is why I decided to cut the beard in the first place), and I return to a blizzard of compliments. Thanks, everyone.
They're Oliver Peoples glasses. I don't think this particular style is still manufactured, but I'd happily recommend the brand (I'd also recommend Alain Mikli, just in case anyone wants a glasses-brand recommendation).
Yeah, the beards are coming back in like mad. It's a good thing you shaved your's. Seriously.
Personally, it made me think more of the guy from Lungfish maybe five or so years back, which --despite that band making a few good albums-- is not the best thing. Here's some more current photos where he's gone more gray.
Anyway, after some clean face-time, I'd explore a shorter more stylized beard like some others have suggested.
