w00t! The kitty was rescued! Remember Molly from a couple days ago? Well, she's safe and free from that dank basement under the deli! Yay!!!
I keep reading that the cat was 'trapped' in the wall and that rescuers were trying to 'coax' her out. Was this cat stuck in a wall for 2 weeks because she didn't want to come out? Did she finally just walk out? Why is this getting national news coverage? "Today in the news, 10 soldiers dead in Iraq and this cat is stuck in a wall."

Um, *cat* psychologist.

Let me try that again, because the fuck-up made it really stupid and not-funny....

And yet another cat psychologist is out of a job.

Okay, thanks.

I heard they sent in cat psychologists. I imagine their most effective efforts to be calling "kitty, kitty, kitty!" while rubbing their forefinger and thumb together. That's what you do when you're a cat psychologist.

Damn, I really missed my calling! I'm excellent at doing those things.

That's why you don't make cat psychologist money p & c.

You call "kitty, kitty, kitty!" pause then say; "to hell with you then." and turn your back and commence reading your newspaper. That'll get em.

All I could think of was that video of the cat finally getting brought down from a tree, jumping loose, and running straight back up the tree.

From The Day Today War episode:

Back to the war now, and in the noise and heat of what they call here the 'flying scissor beans', there is no optimism, or at least wasn't until just two minutes ago when we received these pictures of a miracle from the front line less than a mile from where I'm standing.

This was the scented rose in the bum-gut of Satan, for here at seven thirteen precisely the fighting stopped. Soldiers who, moments earlier, had been shooting each other's teeth out suddenly put down their guns and joined in peaceful commune. Some played games...

...or, like these men, planned a musical.

Others built cribs, carefully forged from scraps and weapons. It's Christmas here, though you wouldn't know it from the smell.

The reason for this outburst of calm lay inside a shed...

...for here the massed forces of two world powers were unified by nothing more than the distress of a cat stuck on a high shelf. (CAT MEOWS) No-one knows how it got there, but these brave fighting men, moved by the simplicity of the animal's plight...

...decided to forget their differences, and tried to get it down. It was a heart-warming scene in an otherwise ghastly place...

...but even as the men celebrated, their heads were blown clean off...

...for somebody, nobody knows who, had filled the cat with nitro-glycerine.
