4/21 Somewhere between now and then my copy of Sean Carroll's Spacetime and Geometry comes.
5/06 I graduate with a B.S. and the keg party that ensues afterwards will be spectacular.
October, 2020 - My private navy and I will sail the seas liberating trade goods from cargo ships, bringing the plundered loot back to my private island, where I will cackle with glee and plot my further domination of the world's oceanic trade routes. Once I have amassed a large enough fortune, my private navy and I will begin to conquer small south Pacific islands, expanding my empire one isolated population at a time. As I am a kind and enlightened autocrat, the citizens will be fiercely loyal to my glorious state, urging me to take on larger islands and, eventually, conquer established nations on the continents.
My empire will not need civilization, as civilization is merely a way for an oppressor to force their obsolete values and religion upon the tired screaming populace. No, we will be post-civilization, living life the proper way, without laws and existing in a perfectly egalitarian social structure. With me being more-egalitarian than the others, of course. The future of the planet will rest in the hands of my people, each of whom is anointed and blessed with the holy power of bringing hellfire down upon those who oppose us. We shall stand triumphant in the face of their crumbling walls and their archaic gods, their broken trappings of civilization.
On May 3rd, I see Sigur Ros. On May 4th, I fly to Dublin to meet up with one of my best friends, who I haven't seen for a couple of years, and who now lives in Galway. On May 9th we fly to Amsterdam, where I'll be seeing the first of eight Radiohead shows in small venues there and in the UK, and also meeting up with other good friends, some of whom I haven't seen for a year or two. And then five days in London, where I haven't been since 2003. I'm pretty happy about all of this. Yes indeed.
Next week, I'll have my radioiodide scan to make sure my cancer's still in remission, after which I can return to eating a normal diet. God, I'm so fucking hungry all the time. I can't decide if I want sushi or a bacon cheeseburger for my first meal after the scan.
