Workout/Party/"UP" Music? [More:]The link is to the Kings of Leon "Holy Roller Novacaine", its a rocking song that never fails to get my toe tapping, my body moving and just makes me happy.

And I'm happy to share it with you all.

Why yes, I am in a better mood.

What songs do you use to get into workout or party mode?
The closest I get to "working out" these days is when I get that weird room-spinny-slightly-clammy feeling after I've eaten too many donuts. However during such times I like to something off of "Purple Rain" by Prince.

I knew a guy who only worked out to Danzig. he's in much better shape than I am.

I excercise to anything, but I think the music that gets me most "pumped," now that I think about it, is the harder material of Mike Patton's career. Like Fantomas, Mr Bungle, etc... perhaps I should make a concerted effort to exercise to that.

I did not come equipped with a "party mode", but it seems pretty clear that Andrew WK is the fastest, sleaziest way to get there if you do have one.

I've never worked out and I never intend to, but if I ever did, my workout song would have to be 'Gonna Fly Now.'

I work out to about 10 different cds. Most commonly played is Garbage - Version 2.0. Lots of well paced songs on there.

Of course, since my ipod died last night.... :(

Mainly....
Black Flag's Rise Above.
Bad Brain's Rock for Light (with a few of the reggae-ish songs cut out).
Husker Du's New Day Rising.
Minor Threat's Complete Discography.
Rites of Spring's End on End.
Refused's The Shape of Punk to Come.
Bad Religion's Against the Grain.
Hot Snakes's Audit in Progress.
The Buzzcock's Singles Going Steady.

kinda depends on what I'm doing.
When I play basketball, obviously i can't run around with my iPod on, but i try to think of the main riff in Led Zeppelin's "Kashmir". So heavy you could just steamroll over dudes.

But if I'm on the stationary bike, i find dub and techno are great because it's more about endurance at that point. Then again, if some Darkthrone or Minor Threat kicks in (I usually keep it on shuffle), it does gets me moving faster for a few minutes.

probably more information than you need but...

Most of the songs on my ipod are upbeat, since I only ever use it when I'm doing some sort of physical labor. Lots of the Black Keys, some Prince, a few songs by the Jam. Right now I have a thing for Tatooed Love Boys by the Pretenders. I play it over and over and dance like Molly Ringwald in the Breakfast Club.

What? Shut up. Like you've never done that.
