Feel guilty about all the people here who work 45+ hours every single week, which I rarely do.

busywork. Filing, catching up on work (or not) related emails. Looking for stuff in the lab that I had misplaced (ok that's maybe not you), Planning the next day,

(pay bills, schedule appointments, call people, IM with superheroes...)

googling myself

I don't really have set hours but...

- Organize/prepare for the next day.
- Leave early.
- Catch up on emails.
- Pubmed search to see if anything new came out in the same area that I'm working on.
- Mecha/Meta/LJ//./BB/Makeblog

I'm doin' it baby!

I do nothing. In fact, I haven't done anything for weeks. My productivity is shot.

This is the only time I'm likely to clean up my desk and organize.

Admin stuff - chaser letters, diary notes, file notes, etc. Nothing that needs too much concentration. Sorting out any files I'm taking home (if the next day is a work from home day), a bathroom break (essential, bearing in mind London Transport's lack of toilet facilities on any of its stations). The last thing I do before leaving the office is to check the Docklands Light Railway realtime monitor online to make sure I don't have too long to wait for my train.

Listen to the Clash and think about what I'm going to do after work (drink & wield a pitchfork in the garden--at the same time).

Okay, that's just what I'm doing today. And I'm also staring at something I'm supposed to be working on. I'd be looking at dirty pics of Joe Famous, but that'd get me fired. And not in a good way.

The last hour is my most productive time. That's when I think "man, I'm going home in an hour and I haven't done anything yet today!".

Therefore my advice to you is to do nothing until 4pm.
