Yay! My boss just called me into his office... and asked me to stay on as a consultant! →[More:]I gave my notice to quit a few weeks ago (am not leaving until May 20) and was hoping to keep working for the company as a consultant while I jaunt off to wild and wooly parts unknown (New Zealand, which is particularly wooly), but hadn't said anything. And my boss just called me in and instigated the conversation about me being a consultant, and offered to work COBRA expenses into my fees (ie, they partially pay for COBRA), and offered to figure something out with buying me/sharing the cost of a Windoze laptop for work, and told me that I always had a job there.

I am so terribly pleased! This makes lots of things lots easier, not least because they brought it up which means my negotiating position is much stronger. And I will not have to worry about money nearly as much, and it is so terribly nice to be appreciated!
