Dale Peck is a humorless shit. The latest example has him riding his hobbyhorse, banging his drum, and waxing his persecution complex in the penultimate round of the otherwise enjoyable Morning News Tournament of Books.

I love the way Peck writes about books to the extent that I don't care about pretty much anything else. But Heidi Julavits has no redeeming qualities.

I kinda like Dale Peck, although I notice that I keep putting off reading any of his fiction. And, he hates Ulysses, or at least the second half, which is one of my favorites. Still, I like his rancor and his unassuaged contrariness.
