OMG New Job! Kind of.→[More:] I was approached earlier this week by a high-level type who I've worked with before and really like (professionally). She asked if I had any Java experience (hello? I wrote much of your Java framework!) and whether I'd be interested in being the technical lead for the Navy in a joint forces effort they're planning. Considering I've been mostly bored and unchallenged for the better part of two years, I couldn't say "hell yes" fast enough. She came by this morning to tell me that's she's procured the funding, and it's happening starting in early May!

The bad news is that it's an aggressive schedule so I will lose much MetaChat time during the day. But it is flattering to be chosen, and having interesting work to do may be worth it. Yay!

rainbaby, yep, the project is scheduled to end in late June! I wouldn't miss meeting my bunnies for anything.

On preview, jan, she has her son all weekend, but we're going out on Monday. Last weekend was a whirlwind, so we kind of took a step back and are going to slow down a bit. All is going well, though!
