Switching Off - Elbow It's late, I'm tired and vaguely unsatisfied somehow. Something tells me this song will make a fitting lullaby.

Elbow plays Seattle on 4/11. I'll be in the back singing badly and blinking back rapturous tears, I'm sure.

Good night.
Lovely lullaby indeed. Thanks.

Thanks for that black8! When she sold me her Shuffle, matildaben inadvertently turned me on to Elbow, as the machine was still full of music. (WooT!) The achingly subversive and sexy "I've Got Your Number" has been in the highest of rotations since.

They're here at the Independent on Sunday, my one sure day off, but no one I know knows them well enough to want to go with me.

Fris, go anyway. Go for me, who lives in buttfuck nowhere and will never see a UK band as long as I live unless I move to Vancouver.

I have been in love with Elbow for coming on five years now. Here is one of my favourite of their b-sides, perfect for a rainy Thursday: Lucky With Disease.

One of my favorite B-sides: Independent Woman (which I first heard on the rathergood.com flash video).

hey this is pretty rad! i haven't heard of them before. I kept waiting for this song to bust out drums...really good song though.

i'm seeing pinback on the 23rd at the Showbox. I don't know if i'll make two shows this month. Seems like every week there's at least 3 shows i'd love to go to here in Seattle.

Zo, I'll see what I can do to provide a vicarious experience for you.

Thanks for the extra tunes, guys!

GODDAMMIT! Thanks again, Elbow, for not crossing the border and coming north. There's no way I can make this show-- can't take the time off, it's in the middle of the week, and I'm already going down to Seattle to see Sigur Ros on May 3rd.... argh.

I had already tried to accept that I was going to miss them (at least I saw them a year or two back, though they were the second band in the three band lineup), but I am now reliving the pain. *writhes in music deprivation fretfullness*
