registration form magic wizards. →[More:]I'm helping build a website for a creativity conference coming up next September. I need something that does the following:

a registration mechanism for people that identifies them by
name,
email,
phone,
area of expertise*,
workshop of preference*

*Area of expertise & workshop preference will both be selections limited to
Arts,
Tech Innovation,
Inclusivity, and
Indy Business

From that registration data collection, we want to assemble tables of
6 to 8 of the registered folks that are mixed in all 4 of the areas,
AND in which the as many of the registrants as possible DO NOT end up
at a workshop that is their first preference.

We'll need a notification method and some kind of master sheet so the
right folks get to the right tables at the right workshops.

A. Is that do-able?
B. How time consuming is that to do?

I'm not a code geek - I can hack, but it takes me forever and is usually ugly. I know that we do have a MySQL db available on our server, but the scripty stuff is over my head.

I have requested help from the geeky guys in the group, but no word and I fear they are buried under other things. Any advice appreciated!
