dude, anywhere on the eastern seaboard the scene was the same in those days. the odd thing about that video is that the intent of it was obviously to make fun of the kids, but it kinda backfires because by the end of it, most people are like, 'shit, I wanna party with those guys.' Most punks I know agree, oddly enough. You do still still me some serious hescher haters out there, but they tend to be people who think Morrisey is the savior of rock, so what can I tell ya?

I was at that HMPL show. It was the last general admission show at the Capital Centre, if I'm not mistaken. The GA seating of course encouraged you to show up early, and the parking lot was half the fun. Me and my older brothers' friends drank a 2 gallon container of everclear and green punch drink on the way there.
Strange to think this aspect of American culture is gone. Now at shows like this they have security roaming the lots for buzz-seeking stragglers.
Ironic that it was a tour for one of Priest's worst albums - Turbo. And they changed their look to Matrix-cyber-leather-dorks. Still, great show, good times.

I used to go and watch Iron Maiden at the Ruskin Arms in Manor Park in the late 70s. It was obvious to everyone that they were in a different class to the other bands that played there. Thanks for the track, it's freaking out the neighbours as we speak.
