Lots of fatalities from tornadic storms tonight →[More:]

The town of Marmaduke, Arkansas was hit very hard as were several towns in Tennessee (one northwestern county in Tennesee reports at least 8 fatalities) and Missouri. Illinois and Kentucky have also had confirmed tornadoes and damage, no fatalities reported yet.

Several tornadic storms are still ongoing and will have the potential to produce tornadoes well into the night.

I'm not sure what this says about me, but after reading "lots of fatalities", I felt great relief when you noted that there are nine confirmed deaths. It seemed a wonderfully small number.

Well that was confirmed, reports were suggesting many more. Now CNN is saying 14 confirmed, some other sources are saying more. I expect when morning comes the number will rise, some of the damage reports made one of the tornadoes in particular sound like a strong F3 or worse.

Spring has sprung in full fury I guess. It's been black enough here this morning that the streetlights came back on.
