Cherry Blossoms! w00t! I've been really obsessed with these things this spring. My back yard is full of them, and as a result I've felt combelled to watch a whole shit-ton of girly romantic comedy anime, all of which features copious ammounts of cherry blossoms. One of them had a scene in which the characters made a cherry blossom pie! OMG!
Hi, everyone, this is my first comment at MetaChat! Is this blog old news? "Gyakutai Bento" (Abuse Lunch). This woman is a mother of three, and she makes most of these for her second son in high school, hence the naming. It's a really popular blog in Japan.
My bad. Gyakutai means abuse, and in this case it means "child abuse." The blogger is a mom, and she began making these weird packed lunches for her second son because he never commented on the "normal" ones she made for him, and she wanted to coax some kind of opinion ("It was good, Mom." "Please don't do this anymore, Mom." Or whatever.) out of him. She knows that these cute lunches probably don't make a high school boy's lunchtime a pleasant experience, so she jokingly calls it a form of "child abuse."
