28 March 2006

Seattle Meetup late April Mudpuppie has suggested that the next Seattle meetup be held on April 29 as opposed to the previously suggested date of April 22[More:], because the Asylum Street Spankers are playing at the Tractor Tavern on April 28. I'm cool with that idea. The alternatives would be to have the meetup on Saturday night, or to have it Saturday early afternoon or Sunday sometime, and instead spend Saturday evening at the Rat City Rollergirls rollerderby bout. Discuss.
April 29 is perfect.

I'll be there, drunk, obnoxious, and lookin' for trouble.

Trouble? Sounds like you're looking for the roller derby.

It does look like fun.

Although I think I want the kind of trouble that results in getting a new scar to get sick of people asking about.

Sit in the front row at roller derby. You can get a skate in the face.

Hmm. That would be interesting. I'm fine with whatever; I'll be in Seattle all weekend, so I'll go where people decide to go.

Saturday is good.

Saturday is good for me, too.

Suggestion: is it possible to set up a wiki section with all calls for meetups and the results including pictures?
posted by deborah 28 March | 13:45
Maybe rather than "Seattle meetup", call it "Seattle Meetup - 29/04/2006" and put everything in there for archival purposes?
posted by cmonkey 28 March | 13:48
Deborah, the main meetup page is here. All meetup preparation and retrospectives will presumably be linked from there.

For the record, I said I would more likely be able to make it that weekend. It's not definite, and I might not be able to swing it.

Jeez, you try working with a bunch of Germans and see how long it takes before you give in to their logical ways of expressing dates and times.

As a programmer, the date scheme I identify most with is yyyymmdd, because when you sort it alphabetically, it's automatically chronological as well.

What Mike said.

Achtung!
posted by matildaben 28 March | 14:41
Thanks, mike. Maybe leave old meetup links and set it up so pictures could be linked to the appropriate meetup? For hysterical historical purposes, of course.
posted by deborah 28 March | 15:20
Definitely, deb. We can divide it into Past and Future sections once we actually have one that is in the past. Yay wiki!
