AskMecha →[More:]I posted a post earlier today, about 11 a.m. PST. It didn't show up. I waited a few minutes and it still didn't show up. I tried to repost and got a "be patient, grasshopper" message. It's still not up. Have I been patient long enough?

It was a fairly long post. Something is tickling in the back of me brainpan and telling me long posts are reviewed before posting. True? Or am I imagining things ~~again~~?

maybe someone was trying to fix the more inside part and deprecated it by mistake?

I was kinda wondering if the timestamp could be changed, but don't worry about it, amber. I'm just glad you got it to show up.

I've lost several posts because I made them too long (in one case, at least, because I stupidly thought the 'more' would make a difference). I've just shrugged and decided that the Gods of Posting were trying to tell me something.

Long posts are delayed to prevent "flooding" and have to be approved by an administrator. If this happens, e-mail one and they can release it for you (you may have to e-mail more than one to find someone awake, depending on time zones and stuff). The only way to change the timestamp would be to do it directly from within the database, it seems, unless dodgy has some tricks that amberglow and I don't.

Ohhhhh, *that*'s why your post suddenly showed up last night in between two other posts. I thought I was going crazy because I didn't remember it being there before. Whew.
