I'd prolly blow it on music and/or wine. You could get a boxed set or two, if you felt so inclined, or a case of decent-yet-not-extravagnet wine. But I'm stupid that way.

Books are always good, too. Maybe get a couple of good CDs, a decent hardback (or two, if you buy 'em used), and a half-case of wine. Sounds like a good weekend to me, but I've got funky standards.

3 boxes of chargers, 24 count each. Balloons.

Satchel, to taste. Low, mid or other.

Fine vodka Martini fixin's and glasses, if needed.
Vermouth olives if possible.

A truly warped CD, to taste - be it Zappa or Zepplin or Coil or Laswell or other. And a decent but cheap pair of full sized headphones, if needed.

A mostly quiet night alone or with someone low stress and independent, inspecting the various intricacies of the inside of one's own eyelids. Or the various intricacies and crenulations of the other.

If none of the above, a big ass new hard drive at a nice price without a stupid rebate.

i'm balancing a logical, necessary expenditure with an equal amount of potentially fun and/or useful thing, for fun.

of course, my idea of fun is
not usual.

so if say $150 goes to machine corpse
then at least as much to the fun stuff.
i never get fun stuff.

A crap (or uncrap) guitar is a bit extravagant, but maybe audio toys are not.

or maybe just totally ditching everything and getting luggage and a ticket.

well, i know i can't "move" move, much less move much, for at least a few weeks at best.

a good multiuse garment might be good.
but i have these mannequin forms now. I could get a sewing machine.

I like audio toys. A decent little mini-mixer like a Beringer might be in that price range, and maybe some cables and adapters. Good for making/mixing music alongside a 'puter and other audio sources. Good for podcasts and netradio broadcasts, too.

More RAM and a decent audio card with real multichannel support is good if you have none. I picked up a turtle beach riveria for ~30 USD and am as pleased as punch with it. Super low noise, super clear sound and digital-analog-conversion.

Really, really nice headphones can be had for ~100 USD. Good headphones are unbounded joy. So much more detail.
