Elemental What have your experiences with Lithium been like?
I'm not medicated but based on people that I know, who have been on Lithium for a long time you should work closely with your doctor to make sure you are maintaining the right levels in your blood and look into how to make sure you are taking care of your liver when you take it.
I accidently tasted a leaking Lithium coin-type battery cell once. Mmm, metal salts. Probably got some Mercury as a bonus. I didn't feel quite right in the head in the most alarming manner for about a week, and then lingering effects for a month or three after that.
But probably wasn't as brain damaging as all the glue-sniffing by proxy via model building I did as a kid, and lead-rosin core soldering probably didn't help much either.
My hands prune almost instantly when they get wet. I believe this is due to the electric motor cleaner I used as teenager when building and racing R/C cars.
I don't know what this has to do with lithium, but loquacious' model building story reminded me of it.
Someone once told me that the phrase "Lithium kick" came from the slightly jerky walks of long time lithium users. Strangely, even though I know (have always known) the phrase it doesn't appear on google. I wonder if it's a common saying, or something more local to me. Anyone?
