Maura Rogers is a friend of mine and local folk singer. We'd both appreciate it if you gave her a listen.
i listened to Laura's Song and the Sunday Rising one--she's a great songwriter and her voice rocks, but her arrangements need work i thought, or she needs to get someone to do the music part or get with a band or something...
i was thinking, "why did Laura's Song have to be sung to that same (tired) folky guitar thing going on?" If you took the voice away it could be any of 10,000 other songs."
the Sunday Rising was much better in that regard, but then it needs strings or something, or some kind of small and then big sound stuff going on, instead of just guitar.
I got a little bit of a Sundays feeling from her voice and a little Joan Osborne too, even tho they all sing in different keys.
