I missed that thread as well. Which is a bummer because those are the best ones. Thanks for the bump as well.

My special stuff, the best is an antique Automatic Mouse Trap made of brass, copper and teak (I think) and involves a death chamber that has instructions to fill it with whiskey for a more humane death to the critters. I think it was a marketing piece or something but its old now and was my grandfather's.

Another favorite is my grandfather's lacrosse stick from his college days at Johns Hopkins in the 20's (legend has it that he scored the championship goal with this stick).

Aww, I missed the original thread too and I don't have a digital camera (yet), so all I can do is talk and provide links so you guys know what the heck I'm talking about. *sigh*

Anyway, I love toys. At the moment my favorites are my little Pinkys (I have six, and one bootleg) my tiny plush Gloomy Bear cub, and a super-cool Hellboy action figure. I also have a Legolas and Aragorn that keep the pinkys company. I still have a teddy bear from when I was a baby too.

I love dolls too, at least certain kinds. I have an unoa (Japanese ball jointed doll, link doesn't go to the main site, but an owner's site) on the way, though she's probably been delayed for another month or so. Still I can't wait until she gets here and I have a chance to put her together and paint her myself. :)

Since I'm waiting I'm also considering getting one of these smaller dolls and painting it myself. They also pose really well, so I'd probably have way too much fun playing with it.

But what's the point of having toys if they just sit there? :P

I have an aluminum ice ax with hot pink webbing that I used to bash my way up various peaks in the Pacific Northwest in the 80s. I have a lovely old edition of Walden given to me by a friend I won't see again. I have a yellow Big Bird doll that my son toothed on. I have a really crappy glass of red wine on the table beside me.

My special toys are none of your business.
