That's not a bunny! Its a Guinea Pig!

Specklet, are you trying to pull a fast one on us?

Definite Guinea Pig.

They're great deep-fried.

mm, how bout as sausage?

They're akin to chickens down in South America. We'd see them in people's kitchens just running around. I couldn't eat one though because I have issues eating something with a face....and they the face on, paws too.
They would bbq them on a charcoal brazier, on a stick and all in one piece. I would usually opt for corn at this point. It was good corn.

Guinea Sausage?

You'll probably have to ask jrossi4r. I think her hubs is Eyetalian.

Did anyone else notice that the name of the jpeg contains the word "toupee"?
posted by matildaben 16 March | 11:28
Yep.
posted by iconomy 16 March | 11:29
yeah, I thought that was pretty funny. Imagine if some guy wore that as his toupee? It'd be all runnin' around and sh*t. Squealing too. It'd be weird.
posted by LunaticFringe 16 March | 11:30
Exactly, then you pick one out (like a lobster) and they cook it for you. I was told it tastes like chicken.

They call them cuy.

I had a guinea pig that looked like Specklet's rabbit impersonator when I was a kid. I also had six or so short-hairs like the ones just above. And they were for playing with, NOT for eating!

Guinea pigs are exceptionally dumb animals, for the record.

"Hello, 1kg of your finest please"
"Certainly sir!"

The one in the center, looking at the camera, knows that it is dinner. None of the others expect it.

Which is yummier: Guineas or Guinness?
posted by matildaben 16 March | 11:45
It was really a man trapped in a guinea pig's body by some vodoo curse.
posted by LunaticFringe 16 March | 11:46
Ordering a pint of Guineas might earn one a punch in the mouth, so I'm thinking Guinness.

Well... I should have put guinea pig OMG, but I was in a hurry. Still cute in a toupee kind of way, no?

Rossi is HER name! HER one that she has always had and struggles to impart this to people all the time!!! Of course, this does not preclude her husband being Italian.

My husband is Italian, and cooks. I might ask him. Probably not.

OMG, all those guineas!

My sister had one, called Guinea, who was the noisiest little pig on earth. Neighbours would think their car alarm had gone off, when it was Guinea giving it the "wheep wheep wheep"

I have considered one of these for a pet. But people tell me they are kinda uninteresting pets and sorta stinky too. Still. They look so soft.
posted by weretable and the undead chairs 16 March | 13:09
They're only stinky if you don't clean their hutches out. They don't do tricks or anything, but they're really sweet-natured and enjoy a cuddle.
posted by essexjan 16 March | 13:25
Y'ever see an eight-foot snake eat one a those? 'S cool as shit, yo.
posted by Hugh Janus 16 March | 13:59
rainbaby: I always get confused when she refers to him as Mr. Rossi, and can therefore never keep it straight.
