Downloaded something with Bittorent... Why so many files and what are they?[More:]
So I just dl Sopranos and usually when I BT something, I get one avi file. I got 27 files with names like:

the.sopranos.601.hdtv-lol.nfo
the.sopranos.601.hdtv-lol.r15
the.sopranos.601.hdtv-lol.rar

etc.

WTF do I do with them? I'm on OS X. Help me get my fix.
Well, that's a single archive split into different parts. Not sure why they did that. There should be a way to combine them, but I dunno how on OSX.

if you just doubleclick on the regular .rar one (without numbers), all of them should start unzipping...they're segments of a movie or whatever.

when i do it, a program called unrarx opens and does it all, giving you an ok after each segment. let it run til it stops and says all ok.

i'm 10.3.9 : >

What I love is when I get a download that is rar'd and when I unrar it, it's a zip file. I've gotten rars of rars, too. And I'm pretty sure I've had something like this three layers deep, not just two.

Okay, thanks!

Amber that worked. The thing that was throwing me is when I was clicking on the rar (which had a zip icon) file, nothing was happening. I guess stuffit wasn't handling the file for some reason. DL'd that unrarx program and that did the track!

*kisses*

Now, can y'all do anything about my acid reflux?

This may have originally been posted to a binary newsgroup, where this kind of splitting is common to get around file size limits.
